OPPONENTS ATTACKED TONY ROMO'S TENDER RIBS ALL SEASON LONG.

The NFL award for gutsiest performance  this year is down to five nominees, including Dallas Cowboys qb Tony Romo for his comeback from a broken rib and punctured lung to lead the team to an overtime victory against San Francisco in Week 2.

You can go here to vote for Romo or one of the other losers, er, nominees.

Most of them are blah — Clay Matthews makes a tackle (big whoop), Oakland Raiders win their game following the the death of owner Al Davis (okay), and Torrey Smith catches a pass (yawn).

The other nominee is the Denver Broncos’ big win over Chicago in Week 14. Flavor of the month qb Tim Tebow will surely be pulling voters toward the Broncos.

Tebow had a great year and is an inspirational player but even he would admit that nobody deserves a Never Say Never award more than Romo.

Dear Lord, we both know Romo deserves this award the most... .
"DEAR LORD, WE BOTH KNOW ROMO DESERVES THIS... ."

Busted ribs are excruciating. A punctured lung ain’t no picnic. Yet Romo didn’t miss a game.

Michael Vick is considered one of the toughest players around, but broken ribs kept him off the field for several weeks.

And Romo doesn’t even torture dogs.
