About 100 people showed up last Saturday for the Occupy Fort Worth activities that included a downtown march and concert.
That’s not a bad turnout for a protest in Fort Worth, the sleepy city that yawned its way through the civil rights movement and various other social protests back in the day.
But this is a new day, a new era, and you can be an active part of it if you wish.
Occupy Fort Worth is meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday at Burnett Park, 501 W. 7th St.
A peaceful march begins at 2 p.m. through downtown (brings signs if you like).
Live music with Wayne Floyd starts at 3 p.m., followed by workshop and discussion groups.
Weather is supposed to be nice, it’ll be a pleasant holiday weekend, and the odds are good that you are not part of the 1 percent, so maybe now is the time to check it out.
