The New Orleans Saints figured Mark Ingram was the best running back coming out of college this year. They selected him in the first round. Ingram has yet to run for 100 yards in a game, and he’s averaging a dismal 3.7 yards a carry. Yesterday he gained 11 yards in eight attempts.
Ryan Williams was the second running back taken in the draft. He went down with injury during preseason and is out for the year.
Murray is averaging 6.7 yards a carry and rewriting team records, including rushing for 253 yards in Week 7. Even Emmitt Smith never gained much yardage in a single game — and he’s a Hall of Famer and the NFL’s all-time leading rusher.
How bad was yesterday’s drubbing of the Buffalo Bills? CBS Sports switched to another game in some markets, including in San Antonio, after the score had become lopsided in the third quarter. Cowboys and Bills fans weren’t amused.
