We don’t usually concern ourselves with Dallas events here at Blotch, but this is worth checking out. Taking Tiger Mountain, a 1983 independent film by Fort Worth Weekly profile subject Tom Huckabee, is having a one-time screening this Sunday at Texas Theatre.
The movie stars Bill Paxton (19 years old at the time), and its story (involving militant feminists, a Welsh Minister of Prostitution, and an invasion of the United States) is based on a William S. Burroughs short story called “Bladerunner.” The name had to be changed because of that other movie that had just been released in the 1980s. This might well be worth a trip to Dallas on Sunday afternoon.
