This Friday (Sept 30) is the last day artwork will be accepted for the Rose Marine Theater’s 2011 Dia de los Muertos Art Show. All media – paintings, drawings, sculpture, dioramas, and of course altars – are welcome and can be dropped off at the Rose Marine (1440 N Main St, FW) by 9pm Fri. Opening reception for the show is 7pm Sat Oct 29.
Day of the Dead (Nov 1) is the Mexican celebration in which family, friends, lovers, associates, and even enemies who’ve shuffled off that mortal coil are honored with elaborate visual representations of their lives. As the great Robert Benchley put it: Death ends a life, not a relationship.
