We’d like to suggest one excellent way to start off your Independence Day holiday weekend: Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s 8pm Fri July 1 edition of its Concert in the Garden series at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden (University Dr & I-30). What’s more American than Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Buddy Holly? Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Buddy Holly impersonators. They’re on the bill for this FWSO evening called “Rock and Roll Heaven,” so named because 1) pop culture bliss is guaranteed and 2) all the performers represented are dead.
Seriously, the evening’s star, Presley impersonator Kraig Parker, has a giant reputation in his crowded field, so come on out. John Mueller will channel Holly and Al Nelson invokes Orbison. Tix for lawn seating are $16-22 for adults and free for kids ten and under.
