Some performers have been announced for the inaugural Fort Worth Rock Assembly, a three-day festival in which North Texas rock bands will do their respective things in addition to pumping out covers of classic rock nuggets picked from a hat. The date: Labor Day Weekend, Fri-Sun, Sept 2-4. The location: The Where House (2510 Hemphill St, South Side, 817-913-7777). On the bill: The Hanna Barbarians, Quaker City Night Hawks, The Me-Thinks, The Dangits, RTB2, Goodwin, Sally Majestic, Pablo & The Hemphill 7, Neptune Locals, THe BAcksliders, Record Hop, Mills & Co., Vorvon, Descender, Lannie Flowers, The Demigs, and more. Potential source material will be provided by the likes of, say, Zeppelin, VH, The Who, the Stones, Floyd. And maybe some Deep Purple, Petty, Queen (ya, good luck with that!), Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top, and KISS. Maybe a little UFO, Rush, or Triumph, perhaps? Admission is $5 per night or $12.50 for all three nights. For more information, contact FW/RA team captain, Tony Diaz (Goodwin, The Missile Men, The Good Show) at tony@meetgoodwin.com.
