This afternoon (Wed Apr 20) 5-7pm, a group of local environmental activists will converge on downtown Fort Worth for a march and rally to mark the International Day of Direct Action Against Extraction. The group Rising Tide North America is hosting peaceful demonstrations and civil disobedience actions across the country to commemorate the one year anniversary of BP’s Gulf Oil Disaster. The activities are intended to bring attention to the environmental effects of extracting everything from fossil fuels to natural gas. North Texas activists will meet 5pm at the corner of East 2nd St and Main St in downtown Fort Worth.
Bet they drive to the demo.
