With all the publicity about the struggles of workers in Egypt and Wisconsin, one injustice right here in Texas has flown under the radar: They’re trying to can Miss San Antonio.
Domonique Ramirez, 17, went before a state district judge today in a bid to keep her crown. The Miss Bexar County Pageant organizers claim that Ramirez gained weight after she won, was chronically late to events, and didn’t “uphold our standards.” To which I say – if being fat, tardy, and unpredictable is a pageant sin, then take my crown! Right now, we are all Miss San Antonio.
