If you missed the usual end-of-the-month open-mic poetry event at the Barnes & Noble on University Drive, you have a good reason. That’s because the event has apparently been canceled. The monthly spoken-word performance series was founded by Susan Vogel Taylor at the B&N in downtown Fort Worth in 1998 but was later moved to the University store. For the last four years, it’s been hosted by Robert Wynne.
No official word yet on why the event has been called off, but I’ll update this post as word gets through. In the meantime, I’m told that the organizers are looking to keep the open-mic going at another venue.
