“The World Famous” Tony Williams grew up in Oklahoma but now calls Fort Worth home, and the R&B singer-songwriter has kept pretty busy since appearing on and co-writing two songs for Kayne West’s Grammy-winning 2004 album, The College Dropout. Last spring, Williams released the full-length album Finding Dakota Grey, and just a couple of weeks ago, he released King or the Fool, an organic R&B record that’s smooth and only occasional danceable. Williams’ most winning attribute, though, is his voice: alternately smooth and smoky and with a hint of edge. Williams also worked on West’s follow-up to College Dropout, Late Registration, and has worked and performed with Jay-Z, Nas, and Brandy.
