An important Texas House of Representatives Energy Resources Committee meeting will be held tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 18, beginning at 9 AM at Fort Worth City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton St.
The meeting, open to the public, will hear both invited and public testimony on local ordinances “covering surface use of property as related to oil and gas development,” according to the notice of the public hearing.
The committee may also recommend changes “to the authority of the Railroad Commission to regulate the operation of oil and gas industries in urban areas of the state, particularly the Barnett Shale.”
Representative Lon Burnam, while not a member of the committee, will be seated on the dais and free to ask questions.
Rep. Burnam is urging anyone who has been affected by gas drilling to attend the meeting to ensure that committee representatives have a clear picture of the issues.
