Local artists Jo Dufo and Michael Rodriguez will be painting a peace mural in the parking lot of JJ Robb real estate, 1255 W. Magnolia Ave. on Saturday, October 2 from 4 to 9 p.m. for Arts Goggle.  And, you guessed it, everyone’s invited to bring a brush and join the fun for a very good cause.

“Come paint with us,” Dufo said, in what she calls a “Crying out for Peace Documentary and International Peace Mural Project … to bring the world together with messages of love and peace.”  Dufo is known for her earlier peace murals on Lancaster Avenue that once brightened up two drab old buildings on that street not far from the homeless shelters. But, tragically, the new owner of one of those buildings has now painted over the lovely Dufo images and peace messages in different languages that the well known Fort Worth artist and teacher painted years ago with her students. Now only one of her dream-like peace murals remains on that sad street that needs messages of love and hope like no other.

Now, come October 2, budding artists of all ages can help her and Rodriguez bring their messages of peace to the old South Side — and hope that the word will spread.
