As this week’s ”Hearsay” indicates, tonight (Fri, Sept 3) offers an unusually rawkin’ start to the Labor Day Weekend with two great musical events: “First Friday on the Green” in Magnolia Green Park (1100 block of Lipscomb St between Rosedale and W Magnolia) kicks off at 7pm with Josh Weathers and the True Endeavors as headliners. It’s free, just like this excellent break in the hot weather.
Later on, the first annual Funkytown Fall Festival features a great musical roster including Katsuk, Goodwin, Sally Majestic, Spoonfed Tribe, and Pablo and the Hemphill 7. The Festival runs rave-style in terms of event time (9pm-4am) and happens at the Where House, 2510 Hemphill St, FW. Admission is $12, and it’s BYOB.
