Of course, every Fort Worth art collection ought to contain a Bror Utter, arguably the most influential painter in the city’s history. The Utter painting shown above and all other paintings shown on this blog are for sale at the show.

Here’s a rare image by Ella Ray Ledgerwood, who was teaching art in Fort Worth more than 100 years ago:

Even if you don’t collect art, the show is worth attending because it’s a great chance to see works by a wide variety of Tarrant County’s pioneer painters.

Scott Barker, a co-founder of the annual sale, is bringing a bunch of works by Blanche McVeigh, Fort Worth’s Queen of the Etchers. Here’s an interesting one:

And how’s this for vintage Fort Worth — a 1939 drawing by Marjorie Johnson Lee:

Here’s a cool painting by Fort Worth’s Bill Bomar:

Here’s another Marjorie Johnson Lee, this one an oil on canvas painting:

And we’ll end where we started — with a Bror Utter painting:

There’s too much to list. Local art dealers will be there, along with vendors from Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and other cities. For many local collectors, it’s the most eagerly awaited show of the year.
