George W. Bush was mocked for many things, including taking more vacation days than any other president, holing up at his Texas ranch for long stretches, and avoiding news reporters who had the irritating habit of asking tough questions.

Barack Obama had a reputation for being smart and accessible as a senator, and he promised a more open administration if elected president.

So far, he has sorely disappointed reporters on the White House beat. This Politico article “Why Reporters Are Down On President Obama” describes the Obama administration as “thin-skinned, controlling, eager to go over their heads, and stingy with even basic information.”

  1. He won a presidency not a lordship and throne. People can complain about him and his administration if they want to. Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Lincoln, Washington, and all the other presidents got criticized on their watch too. Welcome to America.
