The Riverboat Gamblers’ Ian McDougall is in the hospital, recovering from injuries suffered when hit by a car while on his bike. He has a broken hip, broken wrist, hemorrhaging under the skull, and assorted lacerations, torn ligaments, bruises, and scrapes. After two days in intensive care, he was moved into his own room and began physical therapy while awaiting further X-ray results. The prognosis is good. However, a pile of bills is currently “gaining a Mt. Everest-like summit” in his name, according to the web site devoted to his recovery. The Gamblers have set up a Pay Pal account for donations.
