Thursday Night Live, our concert series on Central Market’s spacious patio, will come (hopefully) to a sog-free close tonight –– the past few TNLs were rain-outs. On tap are The Burning Hotels, with an opener, rootsy singer-songwriter Luke Wade. The music goes from 6 p.m. ’til about 8:30.

Aventino (3206 Winthrop Av, FW, 8170731-0711), which recently received the critic’s choice for best Italian restaurant in our 13th annual Best Of Fort Worth issue, is hosting a wine tasting dinner tonight from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Five wines will be paired with items from the restaurant’s new October menu such as wild boar osso bucco, Bolognese pappardelle, and Sicilian lobster. Ten percent from the $10 price tag will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Co-owners Derrick and Monika Paez’ daughter, Salomea, was diagnosed with leukemia last year.
