Senator Wendy Davis and Councilman Joel Burns will be serving the public booze at Grace from 5-7pm, Sept 29. All of their tips will benefit the Mobile Summer Rec. programs at DeZavala, Daggett and Rosemont schools. A lot of places are doing the celebrity bar tender thing lately. Just a couple of months ago, I was at the Blue Grotto when local filmmaker Melissa Kirkendall was slinging drinks. I’m very interested in seeing Sen. Davis and Councilman Burns behind a bar. I’d be just as interested to see Mayor Mike Moncrief selling cologne in the men’s room, and Sen. Chris Harris bussing tables. But, alas, the celebrity bathroom attendant/ busser hasn’t caught on yet.
