At 8 o’clock tonight (Monday) at the Southside Preservation Hall (1519 Lipscomb St.), an informal group called the Hepcat Hop is throwing a 1950s Hawaiian Luau. DJ Tyler Evans promises to play music only from 1950 through 1959 – he evidently has about 15,000 songs from which to choose. “Vintage Hawaiian attire is strongly encouraged,” the group says. Admission is $5.

The event is regular, held the third Monday of each month at the same location. “Bring your pals and have a rip-roarin’ good time,” the group adds.
