The German word schlank means “thin” or “slender,” but Jesse Hernandez takes the title of his show at Gallery 414 from a man in his mother’s neighborhood who threw an errant football back to a neighbor’s kid and said, “Man, I can still schlank it.” The exhibit of portrait paintings is up until Nov. 19.
